Hi all,
we're so sorry, there has been a mixup last night when evaluating the ranking.
I'm going to deactivate the vote for now, please allow for some time to get this fixed and prepared.
This means that if you have already cast your vote before this email arrived, you need to vote again (this affects 12 persons).
Thanks for your understanding, things seemed to have been hectic last night.

It turns out there actually was a mix-up evaluating the rankings for the about screen contest. Please accept our apology. We have fixed the issue. All 7 of the contest artists whose artworks should have been highlighted are now available to vote for at the link below.
Note: If you were one of the 19 Inkscape contributors who had already voted please recast your votes at the link below with the updated list that includes two artists we had not included.

We have a winner! 23 Inkscape contributors took advantage of their position as final round of judges for the 1.4 About Screen Contest. Congratulations to the winning entry by artist Inkonic https://inkscape.org/~Inkonic/ for their artwork "Inkscape's Path–Artist's Blossom" https://inkscape.org/~Inkonic/%E2%98%85inkscapes-path-artists-blossom.
The theme this year was "Growth" and Inkonic's winning artwork depicted this wonderfully with branches and leaves growing directly out of the work of artists' hands using artists' tools ― literally drawing themselves and their worlds into existence and making them grow.
Thank you to all artists who submitted artwork for the contest https://inkscape.org/gallery/=artwork/inkscape-14-about-screen-contributor-voting/. Our deepest gratitude to you for providing examples of myriad ways Inkscape can be used to create incredible artworks. These examples are invaluable to helping the project grow and thrive by inspiring and educating artists.
We'd like to extend a big thank you to all of the community members ― more than 250 ― who cast votes in the initial round and selected the top finalists. And thank you to the finalists, whose work resonated with the community strongly. See our 7 finalists here https://inkscape.org/gallery/=artwork/inkscape-14-about-screen-contributor-voting/.

Hey everyone.
Just a headsup, in the original English language news article, towards the end, the link to this month challenge at https://inkscape.org/forums/competitions/inkscape-challenge-may-2024/ is in plain text, not clickable.
Not sure if it is intentional, but likely something you may want to fix.

Welcome Maren.
I've been for a while meaning to apologize if I ever missed replying to any of your emails. I noticed the other day that despite several attempts, your correspondence kept going to my spam box, and I missed a lot of them in the process. So if I ever didn't reply to your messages in the past or future, it is not rudeness, I just happen to not see them on time.
Just to keep you in the loop, AnaG has been working hard on the UI translation for Portuguese, and managed to reach 100%. I've made a pull request at https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/merge_requests/6420 with the updated translation for the upcoming 1.4 release.
Hope this builds enough trust to welcome her into the website translation team.

Hey everyone.
Just a headsup, in the original English language news article, towards the end, the link to this month challenge at https://inkscape.org/forums/competitions/inkscape-challenge-may-2024/
https://inkscape.org/forums/competitions/inkscape-challenge-may-2024/ is
in plain text, not clickable.
Not sure if it is intentional, but likely something you may want to fix.

We have a winner! 23 Inkscape contributors took advantage of their position as final round of judges for the 1.4 About Screen Contest. Congratulations to the winning entry by artistInkonic <https://inkscape.org/~Inkonic/>for their artwork"Inkscape's Path–Artist's Blossom"

The theme this year was "Growth" and Inkonic's winning artwork depicted this wonderfully with branches and leaves growing directly out of the work of artists' hands using artists' tools ― literally drawing themselves and their worlds into existence and making them
grow.
Thank you to all artists who submitted artwork forthe contest
https://inkscape.org/gallery/=artwork/inkscape-14-about-screen-contributor-voting/.
And thank you to the finalists, whose work resonated with the community strongly.See our 7 finalists here
