I'm moving your post over to Inkscape User Community inkscape-user@lists.sourceforge.net, it's more appropriate there, although it's probably not really an Inkscape problem at all.

Hi there, I am experiencing some troubles at opening .svg files. I was working with Inkscape for a month, and I found it pretty nice. The problems start yesterday. I was working on a .svg project and saved it to my desktop. Later I attempt to open it by cliking on the icon. The File Manager crashed out and froze my desktop. I worked for a while trying to fix the problem. Finally I opted for format the HD and start from zero. Again, today I experienced the same problem. I searched on internet and I found other people with the same problem, but without answers. Do you can give me a clue about how to solve this? Thaks Lucas
Which distribution / version / desktop are you using? You should always include these details in bug reports.
You need to know what Nautilus is doing with the file. It may not be invoking Inkscape.
Presumably running Inkscape directly and loading the file from within Inkscape works?
Prior to discovering this problem, were you able to load an .svg in Inkscape by double clicking in Nautilus? Or was this the first time you'd tried.
Does Nautilus offer a right-click Open With... option? If so, can you select Inkscape from that list, and does it still crash?
For me, dbl-click opens the .svg in Eye-Of-Gnome, and right-click open with opens it in Inkscape, if I select that. I'm using Ubuntu / 10.4 / xfce4.
