Did I get that recommendation right, or does inkscape actually use skencil importers if you build it with skencil installed?
With skencil installed, you can import eps directly into Inkscape, at least here under Linux. (A question to the developpers: Would there be no other way to implement eps import? Installing skencil on my box was quite a hassle because of its dependencies)
