OpenOffice.org is finally on its way to allow importing of SVG. The RFE for this feature has been no. 1 (most votes) for long time. I tested the plugin and it's not stable yet, but it's great news that the work has finally started. http://www.ipd.uni-karlsruhe.de/~hauma/svg-import/
