this function appears to be working properly for me on Windows 10, Inkscape 1.3-dev (0727623f, 2022-05-28).

could you submit a bug report at: Issues · Inkscape / Inbox · GitLab https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inbox/-/issues and attach a sample drawing that does not work properly?
