I've just discovered the stamp tool. One thing that is missing... randomization of the object's attributes. It would be nice if this tool allowed for randomization, kind of like the Tiled Clones tool.
Actually we don't have "stamp tool", it's just one function of the Selector tool. But I agree that randomization with stamping might be useful.
I did submit a feature request at SourceForge a few days ago. Microsoft Expression has something along this line. You simply select your object then set the randomization parameters for size, rotation and line/fill values (including transparency) and stamp away.
Until something like that comes to be, is this something that could be cooked up as a filter? Could a filter be created that randomly rotates each individual object in a selection within a given range of values?
Not for rotation, but for randomizing positions we have a button in Align and Distribute dialog.
Are you saying that a filter can't be created or that one doesn't exist?
How about this... could a filter be created that sets the rotation of the individual objects in a selection based on the brightness of an image's pixel value underneath the object's centerpoint? Any thoughts on the subject?
That's a good idea for the Tile Clones, Trace tab. Please file a RFE on it and I'll work on it when I have time.
Please excuse my ignorance... what does "RFE" stand for? Is this the same thing as making a feature request at SourceForge?
