Just something I remember from a long time ago: There was this idea about a "improve" tool which would work on the last path you sketched. The workflow would be like this: You draw a path (freehand). Before starting with the next path, you see that there is a problem. You hit a key and switch temporarily to "improve" (now "Tweak"), fix the path and hit a key again to continue with freehand drawing.
Or maybe the tool should switch from freehand to tweak as soon as the path is finished.
In the real world, this would be drawing several times over the same spot with little pressure and a soft pencil to arrive at the desired shape.
