Thanks for the new .deb file!
Unfortunately, some of the effects don't seem to work any more, specifically perspective and envelope. When I run perspective effect, I get a dialog that says the following...
"Inkscape has received additional data from the script executed. The script did not return an error, but this may indicate the results will not be as expected."
The dialog box also provides the following information...

Is this the case on your install as well? Should I report this a bug or am I just missing a python component perhaps?
