Hi
Complete Inkscape built with all the current goodies is already between 5Mb (srpm) and 15Mb (daily win built). And html/png files are larger than svg. It can be quite a lot for someone without a good internet connection.
Other suggestion : provide the following :
- the inkscape package, with all the svg tutorials (and not html/png : after
all, Inkscape opens svg, not html). Just like now and
- up to the translators/distribution maintainers/volunteers different packages
like (available from the wiki or web site)(after all, zipping some files takes much less time than translating them)
- a zip/tar.gz file with en/es/cz/fr.. svg+html/png tutorial/keys files
- some linux/bsd internationalized additional packages (rpm/.deb/tar.gz/...)
installing the same files in /usr/share/... for the different translations.
I like this suggestion. Keeping the translated versions separate will also help translators by allowing them to add and update their translation packs on their own time, separate from the main inkscape release cycle.
