Hi all,
I am trying to reproduce this effect - http://www.shlomifish.org/art/bk2hp/ - that I originally did in Corel-DRAW using Inkscape. Now, for that I used an envelope effect that construed the text like so:
\ | \ | | | / | / |
And later on applied perspective. However, when I attempt to do it using Inkscape, I get some deformation/mutation at the top and bottom like so - http://imgur.com/SdUWXA6 and don't want that.
I've been considering to implement my own transformation on the points of the path using this equation - https://github.com/shlomif/Shlomi-Fish-Back-to-my-Homepage-Logo/blob/master/... ,
but I hope to avoid it. Can anyone give me any leads?
Regards,

Inkscape doesn't have an envelope effect like that of Corel and Xara unfortunately. I make do with the Bezier Envelope 2010 extension. With it you'll be able to bend segments whereas you cannot do that with the envelope or perspective extensions (at least I don't think you can...memory). The text doesn't exactly flow nicely against those bent segments but it gets close. Afterward you can tweak letters (tweak tool) to suit your needs. There is an envelope live path effect that you might find useful as well.

PS If you cannot find a copy of Bezier Envelope 2010 then I have a copy I can send you.
