Hallo Lars,
please take a look into the dock area at the right. Is there a small icon or text?
I suspect the dialog is just minified (caused by a click on the tiny triangle in its top right corner).
There's currently a bug which doesn't un-minify minified dialogs when called up again from the menu or via keyboard shortcut.

in Inkscape 0.91 in Xubuntu 14.04, directly exporting to png (Shift+Ctl+E) doesn't give any reaction.
Exporting via "Save as" does work though.
Can someone confirm that?
