No, and I'm not sure it'd be a good idea, because (with Inkscape's inability to edit nodes of more than one object at once) you'll find that one of the two new objects cannot be edited unless you select only it. This breaks the node tool workflow.

If you just need to break a path at an arbitrary point, draw the cutting path over it and use Division or Cut Path. These will give you separate objects at once.
