In CVS, this is already done for fill/stroke style. More on the way; I plan to do this for master opacity and stroke width. However not everything will be there; only the most important properties deserve a place in the main interface.

This is probably a FAQ but at which stage is styles support?

For diagrams, it would be better to have 3-4 styles for different things and a combobox in the main window to switch between them plus the ability to put the styles on keys (like Alt-F1 - Alt-F12).
