Hi all,
as i think a few others have said, I would need vector import (notably
dxf/dwg) for inkscape to really be indispensible for me (i'm an
architect and i'm sure that this would be true for the rest of the
design world). I don't know too much about the formats or what would be
involved in adding this feature, but i ran across this and wondered if
it was helpful. http://www.cadsofttools.com/
Hi Adam,
What we need is something that takes dxf or dwg as input, and emits svg
as output (or vice versa). I don't know if any such thing exists, but
keep your eye open, and if you run across something like that then it
can probably be plugged in as an extension.
Another option would be dxf to eps, and then use Inkscape's eps->svg
conversion, although I think a lot of information would be lost in the
process. Might be worth a try though.
