[Inkscape-user] Q: Layers to separate SVG files

Hi Everybody,

Is there a possibility from either within Inkscape or by using an external script (PHP, Ruby, Python, Bash, TurboPascal ;-) ) to convert every layer in Inkscape to a separate SVG file? Preferably, using the name of the layer as the file name.

I tried some Google research, but all I found were references to the possibility of extracting bitmaps from Inkscape-layers.
