Ted,
On F8 and after installing gc-7.0.tar.gz, configure got as far as:
checking for INKSCAPE... configure: error: Package requirements (gdkmm-2.4 glibmm-2.4 gtkmm-2.4 >= 2.10.0 gtk+-2.0 libxml-2.0 >= 2.6.11 libxslt >= 1.0.15 cairo sigc++-2.0 >= 2.0.12 gthread-2.0 >= 2.0 libpng >= 1.2) were not met:
No package 'gdkmm-2.4' found No package 'glibmm-2.4' found No package 'gtkmm-2.4' found No package 'sigc++-2.0' found
From Googling, this is apparently a bug?
Any chance of someone producing a F8 rpm?
Thanks,
Phil.

Howdy Inkscapers!
While we're not quite to the point of a release, we're getting close enough to see the second pre-release of the much-awaited 0.46 release of Inkscape. The files can be found here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=93438&package_id=9...
With these MD5 sums:
2b3b31cb92c558a68534f190d31b0d72 inkscape-0.45.1+0.46pre1.tar.bz2 90c77e005d0e3d845f0c196e7843a6da inkscape-0.45.1+0.46pre1.tar.bz2.sig 83c8653d3ca4d9cd46e730d9adf8c669 inkscape-0.45.1+0.46pre1.tar.gz e4f7f4b9ef24925cee7a8964e7e671e6 inkscape-0.45.1+0.46pre1.tar.gz.sig cff35c0f01671837f33f4bc19675decd inkscape-0.45.1+0.46pre1.zip 7b55ec81c1824f503fc4c8b6acb90f9f inkscape-0.45.1+0.46pre1.zip.sig
Packages will hopefully start appearing shortly.
