True, I can do without layers in AI, just save a bunch of separate files.
I suppose it would be nice to create one file with all the required data of each color/job separated on each layer, or simply press one button to produce the AI file required for my supplier. So now it consist of a few steps, no big deal.
It would be nice if the inability to save gradients to AI came up as a warning.
