Am still trying to install inkscape. I have tryed on suse 9.1, redhat 9 and fedora 1 always coming against a lack of gtk+ even after updating.
configure: error: libgc (the Boehm Conservative Collector), is needed to compile inkscape
No, you are missing the libgc-devel (and possibly libgc) packages.
To install them, use the same techniques we discussed earlier when you were trying to get GTK2 installed.
