[Inkscape-user] PAP distortion

Hi Friends, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this. But I'm hoping someone might know some trick that I haven't heard (or maybe heard but forgot). Using Pattern Along Path LPE, where there's a sharp corner or tight curve, the pattern becomes distorted. Please see screenshot http://inkscapecommunity.com/jd/ss/PAPdistort.png. I've corrected some of it by adding nodes near the sharp points. See http://inkscapecommunity.com/jd/ss/PAPdistort1.png. Is the only solution to convert the PAP to path, and manually delete the misshaped circles, then replace with individual circles, at or around the points?
