Hey all,
I was just about to answer that I usually export or print to PDF before I start the actual printout. Now looking at the previous posts on PDF trouble, that sounds a bit stupid but I find it hard to predict the output of Inkscape print process and it (used to) take(s) ages and loads of memory.
There are really no troubles in 0.45, the PDF export in that version is pretty decent. In general, PDF is preferable as exchange format, both for import and for export as well as print. Direct print from Inkscape uses Postscript which is limited and obsolete.
