[Inkscape-user] Seeking documentation of Python bindings

Howdy,

I'm interested in scripting extensions for Inkscape with Python.

I've found the example scripts.

I haven't yet found;

- an explanation of the xml in the .inx file - the api available to Python scripts - a discussion of how Inkscape processes the share/extensions dir

Googling hasn't been very productive.
