Laszlo
I would love to see some quick tips for inkscape.
This is a great idea. It can help new users onto their Inkscape-feet ;)
There is some exercice which is not obvious to done.
I guess you are trying to say, that the tutorials provided need some work.
So I have made 2 quick tips, hope somebody find it useful. I have linked the source (.png-s and svg) too, if somebody want to modify it, or correct grammatically (Im not a native speaker).
Thanks for your work.
How to modell in mirror mode: http://khiraly.4242.hu/tmp/mirrorModellingDone.png source: http://khiraly.4242.hu/tmp/mirrorModelling.tar.gz
I'm not so sure about the term "modelling". For a CAD or 3D app, I would agree, but I view Inkscape more as a "drawing application", which helps me make paintings and drawings. Though, I do like the short term for this tip "Mirror Modelling", so maybe it is better to stick with modelling. I don't know...
How to make an edge: http://khiraly.4242.hu/tmp/joinTwoNodes.png source: http://khiraly.4242.hu/tmp/joinTwoNodes.tar.gz
This gave me the idea, that should these tips be collected in a wiki, each wiki page should have a sidebar, with related documentation links (to exercises, the Inkscape book, etc.).
Remarks?
I love the idea, but am not so sure about its implementation. Usually quick tips are just some text, presented during start up. But having too many tips could increase the download size, so maybe one would have to offer it as extension package.
I find your including of little sketches to be an additional little motivator for new users to just try it out. Much better than just using text.
The suggestion to start a InkscapeTipWiki should also be considerd.
Just my 5c's... JasonMR
