I have got a formula in SVG format, which I want to place over a colorful SVG figure. However, the formula has a white background and when I put it over the colorful figure, the white background is shown. Then, I thought that if I could transform the white background into a transparent one, the problem would be solved. Is that possible? How can I get a transparent background? From what you are saying I imagine the object is some text/curves (the
formula) on a white rectangle which are grouped together. If so you can remove the white rectangle in inkscape:
- press n (node tool)
- click on the white rectangle, it shoud get selected
- press del
It is also possible to make the white rectangle transparent:
- press n (node tool)
- click on the white rectangle, it shoud get selected
- press ctrl+shfit+f and play with the sliders for 'Fill' tab
Thanks, Karol. I do not have the white rectangle anymore.
You are welcome Paulo.
I might have found a little inconsistency in inkscape thanks to this issue. I proposed to select an object with node tool and then press Del to have it deleted. But pressing Del won't delete the object. That is fine - Del should delete selected nodes only, not whole objects, but right-click shows the menu saying "Del is shortcut for delete" which is not true - clicking the menu entry "Delete" and pressing "Del" on keyboard don't work the same.
It doesn't bother me at all - just reporting its a bit of inconsistency, in case it bothers somebody ;)
