hi benjamin,
sorry, i didn't explain myself very well.
i'm running a subversion build of inkscape and one of the new features is the palette that runs along the bottom of the screen. there is a menu of different colour schemes that can be selected from and i was wondering if the ubuntu human palette could be added to that list. there are a lot of people using inkscape to make icons and vector art for ubuntu and having the human colour scheme as one of the available palettes would be a great help.
don't worry, i wasn't suggesting using the ubuntu human colour scheme for inkscape itself. :-)

hello all,
as well as this list i also post on the ubuntu-art list. i spoke about the new palete feature in inkscape and asked if an ubuntu scheme could be made for inkscape. someone reckoned that inkscape uses the same palette format as the gimp, is that so? if that is the case there is one already available on this page..... https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Official
is there any chance that the ubuntu human theme could be included in inkcape as one of the optional palettes?
thankyou. john m.

I vote for a common theme amongst Gimp, Inkscape, and Scribus. Maybe Tango icons would be more universal. You could use them for the default theme and they would look at place amongst Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux, etc.

sorry, misunderstood. But I don't think that is a bad idea to have distribution specific themes as long as that is not the default.
BTW: I use Ubuntu 6.06 as my current main desktop OS. I like it a lot - especially the default theme under Gnome. Too many distributions use blue - I like brown better. Good work.
