Hi list,
I need to send files from inkscape to be printed on a callendar. I can see already that gimp opened gradients a bit different from inkscape. I don't have an easy access to Illustrator and Corel Draw, or whatever else they use in poligraphy.
The question is what is the best way and best format to send them the files? I know ps lacks transparent gradients, which I use in the pics. svg would be the best (what's the 'inkscape svg' vs 'plain svg' thing in the save dialogs?) but never seen svg opened in Adobe or Corel.
Would instructing them to install inkscape solve the problem? Is inkscape ready for poligraphy?
In the worst case I will send them png images...
If you are using Linux or Mac version of Inkscape, you could try to import your SVG files to it and export to PDF with color separation and other stuff like that. You can also export Inkscape SVG to EPS, but I'm not sure that the result is prepress ready.
