[Inkscape-user] sUbScRiPtS iN InKsCaPe?

Apologize if there is an all too obvious solution at hand... In trying to use Inkscape to draw (say) chemical formula/s... I cannot find a way to make text into subscripts... usually found in the text menu of (say), (ahem) Adobe Illustrator... am I missing something here?
