Yeah, this is a problem with the autopackage on your distribution. Do you have a bit of time to help me figure out why it isn't working?

Hi, don't know if you're on again today.

I'd be quite happy to help where I can. I really want Inkscape to work for me. Unfortunately I only have a 56k dialup connection, so trying out any changes would be rather slow :(
