1. you make a evenly radiused rectangle by moving the first dot.

2. you move the second dot and get an radius that starts at the
vertical dot and ends on the horizontal dot.

3. you decide that you prefered the first type of curve so you put the
second dot back where it was and end up with a rectangle.

and the first dot does not do anything anymore!!!

that's a damn good point. if you put the dot back where it was then
you'd expect inkscape to return to the way it was working before you
moved it. anything else seems counter intuitive.

anyone else agree with this?

absolutely. but I don't know how one could solve this...

it would make more sense if inkscape returned to the first kind of
curve if you returned the dot back to where it started.
