I developed problems loading any version of Inkscape on
Windows XP. Suspecting a trojan issue, I rebuilt the
entire system. Inkscape 0.40 now loads correctly but not
0.41. The error message reads:
"One
or more extensions failed to load:
The failed extensions have been skipped. Inkscape will continue
to run normally but those extensions will be unavailable. For
details to troubleshoot this problem, please refer to the error log
located at: C:\Documents and Settings\Robert C.
Smith\Application Data\Inkscape\extension-errors.log"
This is typical of the messages in the extension-log:
"Extension "GIMP Gradients" failed to load because a dependency
was not met.
Dependency::
type: plugin
location: path
string: gimpgrad"
Currently I am just running SP1, but the previous problem
was with SP2. I am hoping to have Mandrake 10.2 running
by tomorrow under a dual boot, but the problem stands.
I presume it is a Windows issue.
