Well, it doesn´t help much, but:
Running a Leopard, I *AM* able to copy-paste between "something else" and Inkscape. It shouldn't make a difference, but have you tried right-clicking/control-clicking and choosing "copy" instead of using cmd-c? That helps sometimes in other situations.
