I have tried to install Inkscape to SuSE 9.1 a number of times and failed. Each time I get a message telling me to install GTK+. I have installed all the GTK packages I can find in yast but am still unable to install inkscape. Can anyone offer advice?
Are you installing the GTK+ or GTK+2 packages? Inkscape uses GTK+2.
If you're compiling Inkscape, you'll also need the GTK+2 development packages (probably they have "-dev" or "-devel" in the name).
