I know that's an old question, though I believe it deserves an answer.
According to the FAQ[1] the 'Inkscape SVG' format only adds features used for editing the SVG in Inkscape. They don't influence the look of the SVG. So there shouldn't be any compatibility issues related to browser interpretation.
