It's true that it does not. This is sad, but you should be able to work around it.

I find that printing from a PNG file (export bitmap) works better on my Linux system. You should be able to setup a page size to the custom dimensions you want and then draw your poster/whatever. Export the whole thing to a bitmap and then print the bitmap - then it's all up to your printer software. No?
