RFE 1367651 Hand drawn style is similar to what I am talking about with the paint strokes and chalk strokes etc.

Remember I am just a hobbyist and may use the program more unusually than other people. Stick to what the professional designers want and I will likely be happy too. Any additions in this area would be greatly appreciated but I don't want the team to change the whole focus of the program on my account. Do what you think is best - I don't know how hard it is to program different types of things. I differ to your judgment. The calligraphy tool is a great idea, but as the program is now I can already do a wide variety of different things and it is very useful.
Although I find myself working with Toon Boom Studio Express very often to draw in even though I rarely do animation - the drawing tools just seem so much more free flowing - I am not sure how you would implement that though. I just made use of the star tool in Inkscape the other day and that was extremely useful. Just thought of something else missing in Inkscape that a lot of other vector programs - a variety of different ready made shapes.
Part of how I design is based on the software I have available in my price range and my skill level. If you implement an unusual feature I might use it even though I wouldn't think of it as a requirement as I want to exploit the technology available to their fullest extent - so there is not just one feature I am looking for or one way of doing things that I must have but just that the whole program offers enough of a standard feature set so that I can do basic freeform drawing and beyond that I look more for unusual features that I can expand my repertoire by using.

Got it - told one of the developers in the Inkscape Jabber room. The only UI improvement I can think of is to do layers like in Gimp. Inkscape is very well designed as far as I can tell.
Good.
I think we actually covered things earlier in there that touched on what you wanted. In pure description of problems it sounds like RFE 1123138 "New tool: Vector Bucket Fill", however the details of that makes it clear that it's a more generic solution.
Adding something specifically to do a single path that's been done with the calligraphy tool seems like a reasonable thing. However, we'd probably want to think carefully about the UI on it so that we don't get a tool that ends up being misused and gets in the way of people.
