[Inkscape-user] Styles

I see from the feature requests that there have been a couple of people asking for a styles panel. Is there any possibility that this will be implemented in the forseeable future? I like the idea of Inkscape, but because I use a restricted pallet I really need the ability to reuse standardised lines and fills.
