I've drawn a dartboard type grahpic using circle shapes and straight lines. I need to colour each resulting cell in the dartboard a different colour, somthing that I could use a flood fill or paint bucket type tool in graphic programs like the Gimp or Photoshop.
What is the best way to achieve this in Inkscape? I've put the project up online here: http://blog.mennos.org/nucleus3.2/media/common/rings.svg
Try to use triangles instead of lines and then join everything in a path. Now, fill the path using a even-odd-scheme to get an alternating pattern (for example, black and empty).
Now, you can put roughly shaped shapes behind the "holes" and they will shine through. That should be the fastest way to get many colors for 50% of all cells.
Another solution might be to use path cutting to create a segment, join that into a closed path and then use rotate/duplicate to create many copies and then color/fill them.
Or use fat lines to draw the circles and straight lines. This way, you can use rectangles or at least polygons with 6 or 8 points to "fill" them. Push the polygons behind the "grid" and it will look great.
