[Inkscape-user] help with intuos3

First of all I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy new year. I was wondering if any of you could help me with my wacom intuos3 tablet or let me know of a forum that could help me. I have never used it on my laptop so thought I would try. I installed the latest driver, restarted my computer (windows 7) and then when I  open properties I get a message that says a supported tablet is not found on system. If I open paint it seems to work as a simple mouse when I use the pen. What am I doing wrong ?  I know it is an old table but would really like to use it still. Any ideas ? or where I could ask ? thanks, Joanne
