Hey Maarten,

The distribution you're thinking of is called Ubuntu Studio (http://ubuntustudio.org/).
It's a derivative of the Ubuntu distribution that focuses on multimedia editing/creation,
I've only tried it once, but it seemed to work well. Though I think if you are already
running Ubuntu, you can install all the same packages just by adding the Ubuntu Studio
repositories to your sources list.

Mediabuntu is actually just a repository of packages that can't be included in the main
Ubuntu release for legal reasons (libdvdcss etc..)

Oh and this is my first time posting here, hi!

I've been using Inkscape a little for various pieces of college work and have found it much
more enjoyable to use than existing commercial applications. Software is so much more
interesting when there is a good community behind it, keep up the good work everybody
involved -- developers and users.

Cheers.

Dave

Hey,

I hope you don't mind me contacting you personally, but the phrase "open
source annimation kit" sounded to tempting... Wat are the other tools in
your kit, if I may ask? Also, I came across a distribution called
"MediaBuntu", it might be of interest to you, too, although I didn't try
it myself.

Regards,

Maarten
