I've been using Inkscape (seemingly forever) for all my schematic drawings, and find it works extremely well for me. However there is one thing I find really annoying.
Often I'll pick up a small object to copy - a connecting 'blob' for example - what then happens is that as soon as I move to where I want to place the object the pointer turns into a fist totally obscuring the place I want to copy to. This is because I *always* want to put the object on top of another - crossing lines, in this case.
I have to just do the copy somewhere near, then try and position it relying on 'snap to grid' to line it up properly. Alternatively I have zoom in massively so that the object in now larger than the fist and I can see it again.
For my purposes it would be far better if the pointer either stayed as a pointer all the time (with the hot-spot at the tip) or if it had to change, for it to become fine cross-hairs.
Does anyone else find this a problem?
