So you first made it in GIMP then edited it in Inkscape? Or vice-versa? 
How did you manage to get SVG to work in GIMP? The only SVG export 
plugin I found for GIMP doesn't work. Sorry if this is OT.

First ,I edited the photo im Gimp 2.6, and then imported it into
Inkscape as a TIFF, After drawing the vector shapes there, I
selected "All", exported this as a PNG and did some final
editing (resampling; adding border & copyright note) in Gimp.
