Hello, If I save a PDF of a gradient filled circle, the gradient looks perfect in Linux Acrobat Reader (7.x IIRC) but in a more recent version of Acrobat Reader (8.1.0) on OS X and Apple's Preview.app, the gradient is a solid color.
Does this occur in Windows versions of Acrobat Reader as well? Is there any solution to this other than resorting to a different filetype (e.g. bitmap)?

i wish i could confirm this for you but i do not have adobe 8 on my windows xp box. i do have adobe acrobat 7.0.9 professional and foxit reader and both look like my gradient in inkscape v.045-1.

I am using Acrobat Reader 8.1.0 on WinXP SP2 and Inkscape 0.46 Devel built on Sept 5, 2007. With this setup, the gradients appear perfectly - both radial and linear fills. (pdf saved as cairo pdf). I have attached the file so you can test if it is your acrobat or your inkscape.
