Likely there is indeed something wrong. Snapping is not working flawlessly yet, you know ;-). If you could provide some more details then I'll try to get this bug squashed. For example, which version are you using? You really should try v0.46 (if you're not already using it of course). Next, in which tools are you experiencing this behaviour? Is it in the selector tool or is it when creating a new shape? What snapping modes are turned on, and which selector tool mode is being used (see preferences dialog -> tools ->bounding box). If you could attach a sample file or screenshots, that might also help....
