Yes, I read that, thanks, but I don't understand the procedure. I select a path, I do Path > Path Effects and add 'Fill between many' or 'Fill between strokes', but then what do I do? If I click on a 'Link to path' button, nothing happens; if I then select some other path, it just brings up its own empty Path Effects dialogue. I think I'm missing something obvious.
