Dear All,
I'm continuing in my attempts to draw block diagrams using Inkscape's new features, and I've just encountered some odd behaviour with connectors and grouped objects.
I have a rectangle with a text element on top of it. I want to draw arrows between these blocks using connectors. There are a couple of ways that I can do it: I can group the text with the rectangle, and use the center of the group as the anchor for the connector, or I can leave them ungrouped and use the center of the rectangle.
If I use the center of the group the problem is that the connector becomes detached if I ever ungroup it. Ungrouping is not unusual; although I can edit the text without ungrouping, I need to ungroup in order to reposition the text within the rectangle.
in selector, Double click the group to enter it, it then acts like a temporary layer, and you should be able to reposition the elements within. right click and exit group or select an object in the parent to move back to normal editing.
