[Inkscape-user] White background of a formula into a transparent one

Dear All

I have got a formula in SVG format, which I want to place over a colorful SVG figure. However, the formula has a white background and when I put it over the colorful figure, the white background is shown. Then, I thought that if I could transform the white background into a transparent one, the problem would be solved. Is that possible? How can I get a transparent background?
