I was resizing a selected group-object today, and typed the exact dimensions in the 'width' field right under the tool bar, it was already 35.<something>, so I just typed '36'(replacing the content of the field) and tabbed to the height field. The object was roughly square, both dimensions 35.xxx
But as soon as I tabbed, it's didn't become "36.000" it became something like "36.317", so I changed it to "36" again, and it became "36.1xx" (dont remember exactly), and again it became "36.003", then finally it took the 36 became "36.000"
I expected that if I type a value into this field, then it becomes exactly this value. Is it snapping to the nearest grid point or something ? If so, why did it eventaully get to 36.000?
Any ideas?
Inkscape Version is whatever gentoo emerges as the latest. (I can't check right this second, but IIRC it's .43)
thanks, -kt
