Manually would take too long and be too error prone.
Not entirely automatic, but you can draw the grid over your drawing, use the Division boolean operation, and then move the parts to documents of their own.
i had same problem... with printing inkscape help tutorials! didn't solve it yet... :) any ideas?
I had a look at image magick, and AFAICT, it can't[do tiled printing/export]. It looks like this is pretty hard to do with open source tools. In other words, considering that a lot of people want this, it would be a very welcome feature if it was implemented in Inkscape! It is a typical feature which is useful and very helpful for SMEs who can't afford those printers which can walk and have tentacles etc.
Is there any Inkscape developer who can estimate when it get implemented? AFAICT, it will be 0.43 -- "Import/Export Feature Enhancements" -- a half year or so? Will there be taken a shortcut(I mean, Inkscape is thankfully full of them :) )?
And no, I don't have a patch :|
