AFAIU the crash is triggered by changes in the upgraded GTK+ version
(2.22.x) used on (K)ubuntu 10.10 and occurs on desktops/platforms which
use certain (custom) icon themes.

P.S. As a workaround until 0.48.1 is available, you can temporarily
switch to a different icon theme (Gnome or Tango) or search in the
comments of the report for other confirmed workarounds.
