Assuming your system Python version is the one provided (and maintained) by Apple and has not been tinkered with: download a fresh copy of the official Inkscape package (0.48.2) from inkscape.org and follow the instructions here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/819209/comments/17
