hello bryce,
i downloaded the gimp palette from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Official, put it in the /usr/share/inkscape/palettes and it works perfectly. i'll have a go at uploading it to the patch tracker.
thanks for the advice. john m.

i'm running a subversion build of inkscape and one of the new features is the palette that runs along the bottom of the screen. there is a menu of different colour schemes that can be selected from and i was wondering if the ubuntu human palette could be added to that list.
Yup, I think what you'd do is send in a Gimp format palette (.gpl) file, that can be included in Inkscape. You can test it out first by copying it into your /usr/share/inkscape/palettes directory. When it looks good, go to http://sf.net/projects/inkscape/ and upload it to the patch tracker, and a developer will pick it up and include it for 0.45.
Thanks, Bryce
